BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Jackson State’s Sedgwrick Pitts Jr., Bethune-Cookman’s Michael Carter and Grambling State’s Carson Lowe for SWAC Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Awards.
Track
Pitts Jr. came in a close third place in the 200-meter dash with a 20.85 time at the Bulldog Relays.
Field
At the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational in Miami, Carter picked up where he left off the previous week with a third-place finish in the long jump at 7.63m, ranking him among the Wildcats' top finishers for the weekend.
Newcomer
Lowe had a big week for the Tigers, setting a school record in the men's javelin with a throw of 61.57m (202'0) at the Alumni Bulldog Relays at Mississippi State.
