BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama A&M’s Czaske Deane, Daniela Marroquin, Madelyn Cornwell and Renee Miller its Soccer Players of the Week for their outstanding performances this past week.
Offensive Player of the Week
Deane played in 155 minutes as Alabama A&M went 1-1 over the week. She scored the opening goal against South Carolina State and registered five total shots, including a pair on goal against Presbyterian College and SCSU.
Defensive Player of the Week
Marroquin helped the Bulldog back line in the two games. She limited the opponents to just one goal in 180 minutes. In addition, she helped secure the shutout win on Sunday at SCSU.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Cornwell surrendered just one goal in 180 minutes. She posted 10 saves and had a 90.9 save percentage over the week.
Newcomer of the Week
Miller tacked on the second goal in AAMU's 3-0 win over South Carolina State. She played in 49 minutes, with her only shot on goal finding the back of the net.
