Championship Flashback: Alabama State Claims 2025 SWAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Title

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Alabama State Hornets claimed the 2025 SWAC Women’s Indoor Track and Field title on Sunday marking the programs second championship in the past three seasons. 

Alabama State amassed 145 total points to claim first place followed by Prairie View A&M (101), and Florida A&M (99) who claimed second and third place respectively.

Alabama State’s women’s 4x400 meter relay team capped off an impressive display of performances by the Lady Hornets (3:42.17) as they claimed first place in the event.

Alabama State's Ritchie Beene was named the 2025 SWAC Women’s Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year for his efforts in leading the Lady Hornets to the title. 

Prairie View A&M's Savoria Anderson tallied 17 total individual points as she was named Most Outstanding Field Performer while Texas Southern's Alyvia Brown contributed 28 total individual points to claim the Most Outstanding Track Performer award.
