Championship Flashback: Texas Southern Claims Back-to-Back Men's Cross Country Championship Titles

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Texas Southern men's cross country team won its eighth title in school history claiming the 2024 SWAC Men’s Cross Country Championship title at Apalachee Regional Park on Monday morning.
 
With the win TSU also claimed its third SWAC Men’s Cross Country Championship in the past five seasons (2019, 2023, and 2024).
 
Bethune-Cookman’s Victor Kibet won the individual men’s title finishing the race with a time of 25:58.4.
 
Manuel Garza paced the Tigers finishing the 8k event in seventh place with a time of 26:43.9. Texas Southern’s Brandon Adolphus finished in eighth place with a time of 26:47.9 rounding out the list of TSU top ten finishers.
 
Texas Southern head men's cross country coach Clyde Duncan, Sr. was named the 2024 SWAC Coach of the Year.
