BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Southern’s Tashina Alase and Taylor Hankton along with Texas Southern’s Damaya Malone for SWAC Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Awards.
Track
This past weekend Alase ran the nation's best 100m hurdle time. Her time of 12.71 set her apart from the other of the hurdlers in the field and was close to being the world's best time this season.
Field
Malone ascended to second in the SWAC as she jumped a personal-best height of 5-5.25 in the high jump at the Fred Duckett/Rice Twilight Meet while placing fourth.
Newcomer
Hankton set a PR in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 58.41, ranking 30
th in the East Region and 62
nd in the NCAA.
