BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Prairie View A&M captured the team title at the 2026 SWAC Women’s Golf Championship following the final round played Wednesday at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley (Ridge Course).
Prairie View A&M finished with a three-round total of 940 (+76), securing the championship after posting rounds of 317, 317, and 306.
Texas Southern placed second with a total score of 961 (+97), while Alabama State finished third at 972 (+108). Jackson State (986, +122), Southern (1013, +149), and Bethune-Cookman (1028, +164) completed the final team standings.
Individually, Alabama State’s Carmen Fletcher claimed low medalist honors after winning a playoff against Prairie View A&M’s Kacey Menyoli.
Both players finished tied for first with a three-round total of 232 (+16). Bethune-Cookman’s Lathika Krishna placed third overall with a total of 233 (+17), followed by Texas Southern’s Carmen Pate in fourth at 234 (+18).
Prairie View A&M placed multiple golfers among the top finishers, including Nevaeh Figueroa, Fernanda Rendon, and Micajah Joubert, each finishing within the top ten with total scores of 236 (+20).
The championship marks Prairie View A&M’s first league title in school history after leading throughout the tournament and closing with the lowest team total.
