SWAC Softball Weekly Awards: Feb. 18

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Southern’s Abigail Mitchell, Jordynn Jennings and Laila Clark along with Bethune-Cookman’s Mia Gonzalez for SWAC Softball Weekly Awards. 
 
Hitter

Mitchell helped lead Southern to a 4-0 weekend at the Leonard Moody HBCU Invitational as she hit .667 with eight hits, one homerun, one triple, two doubles and nine RBIs while scoring six runs.
 
Pitcher
Jennings pitched 10.2 innings over three games Southern this past week. She only surrendered six hits while allowing no runs.
 
Co-Newcomer
Gonzalez pitched in four out of five games this past weekend. The freshman tossed 18.4 innings, giving up 13 hits, two runs (one earned) while also striking out eight batters.
 
Co-Newcomer
Clark helped lead Southern to a 4-0 weekend with .364 with two HRs, one triple, and 10 RBIs.
