BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Florida A&M’s Alesia Douglas and Arayana Ladson along with Texas Southern’s Alyvia Brown for SWAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances this past week of competition.
Ladson claimed first place in the long jump with a mark of 5.71 meters (18' 9"). She set a new personal record in the 60-meter hurdles with a third-place finish of 8.66.
Douglas competed in three races, winning the 1,000 in 3:02.79. She was the fastest collegiate athlete in the women's 400, racing in at 55.85 for second place.
Brown finished the 3,000 with a personal-best and SWAC-best time of 10:18.33 as the Texas Southern Lady Tigers competed at the FasTrak Athletix Collegiate Challenge on Saturday.
