BATON ROUGE, La.- The Alabama State Lady Hornets claimed the 2024 SWAC Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship title with several impressive individual performances.
ASU’s Shamia Jones was named the 2024 SWAC Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Most Outstanding Track Performer. Florida A&M’s Breanna Brown-Marshall claimed Most Outstanding Field Performer honors.
Alabama State head coach Ritchie Beene was named the SWAC Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year after leading ASU titles in both Indoor Track and Field and Outdoor Track and Field this season.
Alabama State led all teams in competition with 139.3 points. Florida A&M claimed 129 points finishing in second place. Prairie View A&M finished in third place amassing 121 points.
