BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama A&M’s Kaan
Oliver its SWAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week and Danice
Loney its SWAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for their outstanding performances during competition Jan. 22-24.
Oliver (Pike Road, Alabama) posted a solid collegiate debut at the KMS Invitational, competing in a pair of events. She would place 24-of-51 in the 200-meters with a time of 27.71 before finishing 17-of-24 in the 60-meter hurdles (11.29).
Loney (Melbourne, Fla.) paced a pair of top ten finishes as Alabama A&M Women's Indoor Track and Field began the 2020-21 season at the KMS Invitational. Competing at the Birmingham CrossPlex, Loney continued her stellar career as she outpaced the competition in the pole vault, winning the event ahead of 11 other competitors.
