About Championship
The 2013 Southwestern Athletic Conference Baseball Championship will take place May 15-19 in Fort Worth, TX at LGrave Field. This is the first year the tournament will be held at the historic field.
LaGrave Field opened in 1926. During its existence, LaGrave Field has hosted nearly 50 members of the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. It is the present-day home of the Fort Worth Cats minor league baseball team. The Cats are members of the United Baseball League.
The top four finishers from the Eastern and Western Divisions qualify for the SWAC Baseball Championship. The team with the highest won-lost percentage during Conference play receives the number one seed.
Last year, Prairie View A&M claimed its third championship title defeating Mississippi Valley State.
