By the Numbers

• In Friday’s win for Florida A&M, Sydney Whitfield led with 24 kills while adding a .524 hitting percentage as the Lady Rattlers won their SWAC Opener against Alabama State. Whitfield led the SWAC with 41 kills through two matches played.
• Alabama A&M’s, Gerren Tomlin led with 17 kills in the Friday win over Bethune-Cookman and followed with 16 in the five-set thriller win over Florida A&M.
• Alcorn State secured their first win of the season with a sweep over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, moving to 1-1 in SWAC play.
• In the Assist Category, Alabama State’s Kamrynn Clay led with 59 through both matches followed by Southern’s Penina Vito adding 56 and Alabama A&M’s Kaydee Smith adding 50.
• In the Blocks Category, Alabama A&M’s Carys Sanabria and Florida A&M’s Farah Farooq led the SWAC with 12 blocks each on the weekend.
• Jackson State’s Giannelle Asomani led with 42 digs through both matches played followed by Southern’s Najah Harris adding 41. Harris led averaging 5.13 digs per set.
