BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced Volleyball Weekly Awards for September 15, 2026, where Alabama State’s Kamrynn Clay goes back-to-back as Setter of the Week followed by Mirra Riddle earning Defensive Player of the Week. Florida A&M’s LaDonna Trantham grabbed Offensive Player of the Week and Maleah Faust from Southern rounds out the weekly awards with Newcomer of the Week.
 
SWAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week: LaDonna Trantham, Florida A&M
The Sophomore Outside Hitter from Homewood, Illinois continues to build her collegiate resume as Trantham finished the weekend with 62 kills including season-highs of 26 kills in the five-set win over Hampton and 23 kills in the five-set win over Louisiana. Trantham helped Florida A&M go 2-1 during the Florida A&M Tournament while adding to her season-high match hitting .356 in the battle against Hampton and averaging 4.69 kills per set. LaDonna Trantham leads the Lady Rattlers with 111 kills, 125.5 points, and 11 service aces. As Florida A&M prepares for their final week of non-conference action, LaDonna Trantham enters the new week with her first weekly honor of the season.
 
SWAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Mirra Riddle, Alabama State
The Junior Libero from North Bend, Oregon helped Alabama State go 2-1 during the ISTAP Collegiate Cup with wins over South Carolina State and Nicholls. Riddle continues to find her footing in the Libero spot where she added a weekend high of 19 digs in the match against SC State and followed with 15 against Miami (Ohio). Through three matches played, Riddle finished with 47 digs while averaging 4.27 digs per set. Riddle also contributed with four service aces and six assists on the weekend. Riddle is ranked #2 in the SWAC with 131 digs and holds an NCAA Top-100 ranking in the category. Mirra Riddle adds her second weekly honor overall and first Defensive Player of the Week honor.
 
SWAC Volleyball Setter of the Week: Kamrynn Clay, Alabama State
The Junior Setter from Saint Hedwig, Texas adds her second consecutive weekly honor after leading all SWAC setters with 109 assists throughout the week. Clay added her second match of the season with 40+ assists, tallying 42 in the win over South Carolina State. Clay followed with 29 against Miami (Ohio) and 38 in the win over Nicholls. Clay averaged 9.91 assists per set while having a 98.2 percent success rate, only committing three errors. Kamrynn Clay leads the SWAC with 292 assists while holding an NCAA Top 100 ranking at #61 in that category. Clay’s honor marks her second weekly award of the season.
 
SWAC Volleyball Newcomer of the Week: Maleah Faust, Southern
The Freshman Setter from Inglewood, California ranked third in the SWAC with 80 assists while averaging 5.71 assists per set for the week. Faust added a new season-high with 39 assists in the win over Southeastern Louisiana. Faust contributed 18 digs, her first career service ace against Lamar, two total blocks, and six kills through four matches played during the week of Sept. 7 through Sept. 13. Faust is ranked second on Southern with 91 assists on the season and leads with 5.06 assists per set. Following an impactful week for Maleah Faust, she adds her first weekly honor of the season.
