By the Numbers

• LaDonna Trantham from Florida A&M finished with multiple performances with 20+ kills (23 vs. Louisiana, 26 vs. Hampton), helping the Rattlers go 2-1 at the Florida A&M Tournament.
• Makenzie Taylor from Florida A&M led the weekend with a season-high of 45 assists in the win over Louisiana followed by Alabama State’s Kamrynn Clay adding 42 assists in the win over South Carolina State.
• Kaylen Hines from Alabama State added a new season-high with eight blocks in the win over Nicholls. Aaliyah Brown from Texas Southern followed with seven blocks as the Tigers were victorious over Charlotte.
• Sydney Humes from Florida A&M led the Rattlers with 23 digs in the win over Louisiana. Asialin Powell from Grambling State followed with 22 digs in the matchup against Northwestern State.
• Najah Harris from Southern reached new milestone of 1,000 career digs on Friday, September 11.

The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) is considered one of the premier HBCU conferences in the country and currently ranks among the elite in the nation in terms of HBCU alumni playing with professional sports teams.

Current championship competition offered by the league includes competition for men in Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, and Tennis. 

Women’s competitions are offered in the sports of Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, and Volleyball.
