BIRMINGHMAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced Volleyball weekly awards Alabama A&M’s Rayishon Jackman was named Offensive Player of the Week followed by Florida A&M’s Sydney Humes swiping Defensive Player of the Week. Alabama State Volleyball saw Kamrynn Clay earn Setter of the Week along with Mirra Riddle winning Newcomer of the Week.
 
SWAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week: Rayishon Jackman, Alabama A&M
The Junior Outside Hitter from Taipei, Taiwan finished the week with 55 kills through four matches where she added 19 kills in the five-set thriller win with West Georgia and followed with 18 kills in the win against Georgia State. Jackman averaged 3.44 kills per set while adding six service aces. Opening the season as the SWAC Volleyball Preseason Player of the Year, Jackman picked up where she left off as she has contributed to 84.0 Points for the Lady Bulldogs while providing a spark defensively with 59 digs on the year. Following a 2-2 week in action, Rayishon Jackman adds her first weekly honor of the season.
 
SWAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Sydney Humes, Florida A&M
The Senior Defensive Specialist/Libero from Homewood, Alabama led with Lady Rattlers with 42 digs including a 13-dig performance in the five-setter thriller win against UConn and 20 against Coastal Carolina. Humes averaged 3.50 digs per set through three matches played while adding two service aces and six assists. As Sydney Humes holds down the back row, the Lady Rattlers lean on her experience and IQ to keep the ball in play. With a loaded resume in her collegiate career followed by seeing success as a multi-time champion in the SWAC, Sydney Humes adds her first weekly honor of the season.
 
SWAC Volleyball Setter of the Week: Kamrynn Clay, Alabama State
The Junior setter from Saint Hedwig, Texas has picked up where she left off from her Sophomore Season as the 2026 Preseason SWAC Setter of the Year and now adding her first weekly honor following a week where Clay averaged 7.85 assists per set with a total of 102 through four matches played. Clay opened the weekend with 30 assists against UNC Wilmington and had her second highest of the weekend with 27 against Gardner-Webb. Clay added two service aces while averaging 1.77 assists per set. Leading the SWAC with 183 assists, Kamrynn Clay looks to continue to build on her Junior season as conference play nears closer.
 
SWAC Volleyball Newcomer of the Week: Mirra Riddle, Alabama State
The Junior from North Bend, Oregon continues to find her footing with the Lady Hornets in the Libero spot as she averaged 3.31 digs per set through four matches played from Sept. 3-5. Riddle added 15 digs against UNC Wilmington and followed with 11 against West Florida while adding eight assists on the week and four service aces. Riddle leads Alabama State with 84 digs while averaging 3.50 digs per set and now adds her first weekly honor with the program.
