SWAC Announces 2026 Volleyball Predicted Order of Finish

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Anticipating a new season on the horizon, the Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its 2026 Women’s Volleyball Predicted Order of Finish, voted by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors

For the second consecutive year, Florida A&M was voted as the SWAC Volleyball Preseason Favorite followed by Prairie View A&M being placed second. Jackson State follows at third, Alabama A&M edges in at fourth and Alabama State rounds out at fifth for the top five selections.

Bethune-Cookman was tabbed at sixth place followed by Southern (7th), Texas Southern (8th), Grambling State (9th), Alcorn State (10th), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (11th) and Mississippi Valley State (12th) to finish the 6-12 spots.
Defending SWAC Tournament Champions, Florida A&M led with six first place votes followed by Prairie View A&M adding five first place votes, Alabama A&M with four and Alabama State along with Southern with one.

Regular season Volleyball is slated to begin next weekend with each program looking to take the court in non-conference battles. Conference play in the SWAC is scheduled to begin around the league on September 25th. The battle for the SWAC Tournament Championship with a chance of an automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division I Volleyball Championships is scheduled to take place November 20-22 on the campus of Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama.
