BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Alabama A&M’s Kalia Walker and Coriah Beck along with Alabama State’s Clearia Peterson for SWAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards.
Player
Walker averaged 18.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals in AAMU victories over Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern. She shot 61.1 percent (11-of-18) from the floor in the two games.
Impact
Beck averaged 15.0 points, 6.0 boards and 1.5 steals and shot 42.3 percent (11-of-26) from the floor. Against Prairie View A&M, Beck shot 6-of-12 from the field to register 15 points, four boards, three steals and two blocks.
Newcomer
Peterson helped Alabama State to a pair of road wins over Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M last week. She averaged 12 points, seven rebounds, two blocks one steal, and one assist while shooting 71.4 percent from the field.
