BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Texas Southern’s Jordyn Marshall and Florida A&M’s Tahnyjia Purifoy for SWAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards.
Player/Impact
Marshall was the league’s leading scorer during this past week of competition as she helped lead TSU to wins over UAPB and MVSU. She averaged 22 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field.
Newcomer
Purifoy averaged 17.5 points per game for Florida A&M during this past week of competition. She helped lead her team to a 60-57 home win over previously unbeaten Southern.

Current championship competition offered by the league includes competition for men in Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field and Tennis.
Women’s competition is offered in the sports of Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, Soccer, Softball, Tennis and Volleyball.
