PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - Prairie View A&M football continues to receive recognition at the national level as two key contributors to the Panthers' program have been recognized.
Freshman running back Chase Bingmon has been named one of the 25 finalists for the 15th Annual Jerry Rice Award, which honors the top freshman player in Division I FCS football. A key piece of the Panthers' offense, Bingmon rushed 143 times for 857 yards (6.0 yards per carry) and eight touchdowns, while also adding 17 receptions for 122 yards in 11 games this season. The award, named after Hall of Fame wide receiver and Mississippi Valley State legend Jerry Rice, will be announced on December 3.
Not to be outdone, PVAMU head coach Tremaine Jackson has been selected as one of the 15 finalists for the 2025 Eddie Robinson Award, recognizing the national FCS Coach of the Year. In his first season at the helm, Jackson guided the Panthers to a 9-3 overall record and a 7-1 mark in SWAC play, capturing the SWAC West Division title and delivering Prairie View's first nine-win season since 2009.
The Eddie Robinson Award winner will be announced on December 4, with both awards being celebrated at the Stats Perform FCS National Awards Show on January 3 in Nashville, Tennessee.
