BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Jackson State’s Daphane White and Florida A&M’s Mide Oriyomi for SWAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of conference play.
Player of the Week
White posted back-to-back impressive outings this past week of competition as they Lady Tigers went 2-0 for the week with wins over Mississippi Valley State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff respectively. She averaged a league leading 21.0 points per game to go along with 10.5 rebounds per game. White shot 73 percent from the field and also contributed two blocks.
Impact Player of the Week
Oriyomi led the Rattlers with 16 points, seven rebounds and two steals during the Rattlers contest at Prairie View A&M on Monday. She tallied 16 points, four assists, and added two steals during Florida A&M’s road win over Texas Southern on Saturday. For the week she averaged 16.0 points per game, 2.5 assists per game, and 2.0 steals per game.
