SWAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors: Mar. 30

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama State’s Matthew Clarke its SWAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week and Alabama A&M’s Brandon McLaren its SWAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for their outstanding performances during competition Mar. 24-26.

Clarke led the men’s side at the Al Schmidt Bulldogs Relays hosted by Mississippi State for the Hornets with a second-place finish in the 200-meters with a time of 20.63 seconds – the top collegiate time in the race. 

Brandon McLaren delivered one of the best performances of his career at the Margaret Simmons Invitational hosted by Murray State. He would win the javelin with a throw of 57.99 meters and jumped himself into second place in the long jump with a jump of 6.99 meters.
