SWAC Women's Basketball Weekly Honors: Mar. 1

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Jackson State’s Ameshya Williams-Holliday and Alabama A&M’s Nigeria Jones for SWAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of conference play.

Player of the Week
Williams-Holliday had back-to-back double-double performances during JSU road outings in Texas this past week of competition. She averaged 26.5 points per game while shooting 77.4-percent from the field. Against Texas Southern, Williams-Holliday scored 29 points, gathered 15 rebounds, while adding four assists, three blocks, and a steal. Against Prairie View A&M, she scored 24 points and collected 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block.

Impact Player of the Week
Jones had an outstanding offensive game against Alabama State on Saturday. She went 71.4-percent from the three-point line and 61.1-percent from the field while tallying a game-high of 35 points. She also contributed two assists and one steal during AAMU's 76-68 win over ASU.
