BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Florida A&M's Dylan Horton and Jackson State's Ameshya Williams-Holliday for SWAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of conference play.
Player of the Week
Horton had back-to-back career nights as she set a career-high with 25 points versus Southern, then later set a new career-high with 32 points during Florida A&M's win versus Grambling State. She also contributed seven rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game over the weekend. She averaged a total of 28.5 points per game during Florida A&M’s last two outings.
Impact Player of the Week
Williams-Holliday played a pivotal role in Jackson State's wins over Alabama State and Alabama A&M to improve to 3-0 in SWAC play. In the Tigers win over Alabama State she tallied 26 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for a double-double. She also converted 10-of-13 free-throw attempts. Williams-Holliday was key in JSU’s win over Alabama A&M as she scored 20 points and contributed 13 rebounds to post another double-double performance.
