MADISON, Ala.- The Southern Jaguars punched their ticket to the 2021 SWAC Championship game with an 8-4 win over Prairie View A&M on Saturday at Toyota Stadium.

Southern plated three runs in the third inning, two runs in the fifth inning, and two in the eighth inning and one insurance run in the ninth inning while holding PVAMU scoreless through the final two innings of the contest.

SU moves on to face the Jackson Tigers who enter the contest undefeated in conference play this season. 

Southern is the defending champion having won the tournament title game the last time it was held in 2019 while Jackson State’s last league title took place in 2014.

Tomorrow’s game will be shown live from Toyota Field on ESPN3 at 12:00 p.m. CST.
