Alabama A&M’s Lewis and Jackson State’s Rogan Tabbed for SWAC Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama A&M’s Dariauna Lewis its SWAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week and Jackson State’s Dayzsha Rogan its SWAC Women’s Basketball Impact Player of the Week for their outstanding performances during games played Feb. 6-8.
 
Lewis (Omaha, Neb.) averaged 17.0 points, 14.5 rebounds and an assist, block and steal per game over the course of a pair of victories. She shot .727 (16-of-22) from the floor. Lewis opened the week against Mississippi Valley State (2/6) with a double-double of 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting, 17 rebounds (five offensive) and added an assist and block. That effort helped fuel a commanding 81-43 victory. Lewis would cap the week against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (2/8) with another double-double, this time 18 points (9-of-13) and 12 rebounds to go with an assist, block and two steals in 33 minutes of play.
 
Rogan (Ripley, Miss.) averaged 20.5 points per game to go along with 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per outing this past week of competition. The Jackson State Lady Tigers improved to 9-1 in league play as they claimed road wins over Alcorn State and Southern in conference action.
 
Other notable performances: 
  • Alabama State’s Ayana Emmanuel averaged 19.0 points per game in wins over UAPB and Mississippi Valley State. The junior scored 20 points in a win over Mississippi Valley State, adding five rebounds and four assists, while also scoring 18 points and adding five assists in a win over UAPB.
