BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Jackson State, under the direction of third-year head coach Tomekia Reed, was selected to finish first in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Preseason Poll. The preseason poll was voted upon by league head coaches and sports information directors.
Jackson State was followed in predicted order of finish polling by Texas Southern, Southern, Alabama A&M and Prairie View A&M to round out the top five. Alabama State, Grambling State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Alcorn State, and Mississippi Valley State were tabbed to finish 6-10 respectively.
The league is slated to announce 2020-21 SWAC Preseason Honors and Teams tomorrow (Nov. 3) at 10:30 am CST.
