BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference continued to maintain a strong presence in the Black College Football Poll, with six league programs ranked or receiving votes in the Week Three Division I FCS poll.
Jackson State and Alabama State lead the conference at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Jackson State received 346 points after holding its position from the previous week, while Alabama State remained third with 330 points.
Prairie View A&M is ranked No. 6 with 184 points, followed closely by Alabama A&M at No. 7 with 182 points. Alabama A&M moved up one position from No. 8 in last week's rankings.
Grambling State checks in at No. 8 with 122 points, while Alcorn State remains at No. 9 with 68 points. The Tigers and Braves give the SWAC six programs represented among the poll's Top 10.
Bethune-Cookman, Southern and Arkansas-Pine Bluff also received votes this week. Bethune-Cookman collected 44 points, Southern received 12 and Arkansas-Pine Bluff received 10.
