SWAC Softball Weekly Awards: Apr. 21

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Florida A&M’s Amari Brown, Jackson State’s Jorgina Gant and Bethune-Cookman’s Mia Gonzalez for SWAC Softball Weekly Awards. 

Hitter 
Brown was Florida A&M’s most impactful bat in the lineup by a wide margin this past week of competition. She contributed 13 RBI across three games displaying remarkable offensive efficiency and production.

Pitcher
Gant went the distance for the Tigers to open the series against AAMU on Friday night. She pitched all seven innings and only allowed three hits while striking out three batters in a 6-0 victory.
 
Newcomer 
Gonzalez limited the Alabama State offense during her three appearances this past weekend. She pitched 12.0 innings, allowing just two earned runs and recording two strikeouts while earning wins in two of the three games.
