SWAC Baseball Weekly Awards: Apr.1

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Blake Coleman and Zach Wieder, Florida A&M’s Jay Campbell and Jesus Campa along with Bethune-Cookman’s Justin Morales for SWAC Baseball Weekly Awards. 
 
Co-Hitter
Coleman was the most impactful bat in the lineup during Arkansas-Pine Bluff's three-game SWAC sweep of Alcorn State, going 6-for-11 (.545) with 10 RBI, a home run, a triple, and three walks across the series. He reached base safely in nine of his 14 plate appearances and drove in multiple runs in every game of the series.
 
Co-Hitter
Florida A&M’s Campbell was impressive during this past week of competition for the Rattlers serving as a catalyst for FAMU offense. He tallied nine hits while driving in seven runs to go along with a .529 batting average for the week.  
 
Pitcher
Florida A&M’s Campa pitched eight complete innings against Alabama State while picking up the win. He allowed only three hits while giving up no earned runs.  
 
Co-Newcomer
Zach Wieder was a force at the plate all weekend for Arkansas-Pine Bluff, finishing the three-game sweep of Alcorn State with a .625 average (5-for-8), seven RBI, six runs scored, and two walks. 
 
Co-Newcomer
Morales was stellar in a critical relief role as the Wildcats were able to take the series from Jackson State with a 5-4 win in the finale. He earned his second win of the season with 3.2 innings of one-hit ball in which he did not allow a run but struck out four.
