SWAC Baseball Weekly Awards: Mar. 18

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Texas Southern’s Shaun Williams, Bethune-Cookman Harbersting Abreu and Alabama A&M Tervell Johnson for SWAC Baseball Weekly Awards. 
 
Hitter

Williams was a key offensive contributor for Texas Southern tallying a league high ten RBIs during this past week of competition. He amassed six hits and two homeruns during TSU outings against Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Jackson State. 
 
Pitcher
Abreu earned his first win of the season with a dominant win over Prairie View A&M to open SWAC play. He tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing only four hits with seven strikeouts.
 
Newcomer
Johnson batted .533 during the week as he went 8-for-15 at the plate, with three extra base hits (two doubles and one triple), scored six times and drove in five runs.
