BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Prairie View A&M’s Dontae Horne, Bethune-Cookman’s Jakobi Heady, Alabama A&M’s Koron Davis and Mississippi Valley State’s Michael James for SWAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards.
Player
Horne was impressive during this past week of competition as he led the league in points per game. He averaged 31.0 points per game to go along with 4.0 rebounds per game.
Impact
Heady averaged 22.5 points per game during this past week of competition for Bethune-Cookman. He shot 64 percent from the field while also averaging 4.5 rebounds per game.
Co-Newcomer
James contributed 21.0 points per game for Mississippi Valley State this past week. He helped lead MVSU to its first conference win of the season and also contributed 4.7 rebounds per game.
Co-Newcomer
Davis averaged 17.0 points and 3.5 boards this past week for Alabama A&M. He shot 50.0 percent (10-of-20) from the floor and 92.3 percent (12-of-13) from the foul line in two games.
