BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Jackson State’s Hope Briggs, Texas Southern’s Kourtni Collier, Alabama State’s Kamrynn Clay, Grambling State’s Rihianna Brown and Florida A&M’s LaDonna Trantham for weekly awards after their outstanding performances this past week.

Offensive Player of the Week
Briggs averaged 3.0 kps, while hitting .379 for the weekend. She hit .526, while earning 13 kills to help the Lady Tigers defeat Northwestern Louisiana. Briggs was also named to the Southern Miss All-Tournament Team. 
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Collier was a key contributor for the Texas Southern Lady Tigers during non-conference matches. She was key force for TSU at the net leading the team in total blocks while also contributing offensively.  
 
Setter of the Week
Clay finished the Pelican Invitation with 57 total assists, including a match-high 34 in ASU's win over New Orleans. Clay also added three kills, three service aces and 21 digs during the three-match Invitational.
 
Co-Newcomer of the Week
Brown competed in three matches, including two at the Southern Mississippi Invitational and a home contest. Brown finished with 18 total kills and posted a hitting percentage above .500 in two of the three matches. She also added five block assists, making her presence felt on both offense and defense.
 
Co-Newcomer of the Week
Trantham led the Rattlers' offense across their three matches. She posted a team-high 30 kills, averaging 2.50 per set, while adding five block assists for 32.5 total points. She also contributed defensively, collecting seven digs and recording a .846 reception percentage as she finished the week second on the team in kills per set and points per set (2.71).
