BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama State’s Jyriah Morgan and Trinity Mitchell along with Prairie View A&M’s MaKinzie Taplin and Adlene Jideofor its Volleyball Players of the Week for their outstanding performances this past week.
Offensive Player of the Week
Morgan finished last week's action at the Georgia Classic with 38 kills, including a team and match-high 19 against Texas Tech. She also added three digs and had 12 total blocks.
Defensive Player of the Week
Mitchell had 31 digs over the weekend, including 14 against Texas Tech. She also contributed with eight assists and two service aces.
Setter of the Week
Taplin orchestrated the Lady Panthers’ offense with precision and consistency throughout the weekend, racking up impressive assist totals (88) against non-conference competition.
Newcomer of the Week
In her first weekend of action for Prairie View A&M, Jideofor made an immediate impact at the net, showcasing her defensive presence and ability to contribute offensively. She contributed 16 kills to go along with 15 blocks.
