FAMU Claims SWAC Softball East Division Title

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Florida A&M Rattlers softball team has claimed the 2025 SWAC Softball East Division Title.

The Rattlers amassed a 19-5 overall conference record at the conclusion of the regular season portion of their schedule.

Under the direction of head coach Brittany Beall FAMU also claimed the East Division No. 1 seed for the upcoming SWAC Softball Tournament slated to be held on May 6-9 at the Gulfport Sportsplex in Gulfport, Mississippi.

The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) is considered one of the premier HBCU conferences in the country and currently ranks among the elite in the nation in terms of HBCU alumni playing with professional sports teams.

Current championship competition offered by the league includes competition for men in Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, and Tennis.

Women’s competition is offered in the sports of Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, and Volleyball.
