BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Prairie View A&M’s Kylee Owens and Leila Smalls, Alabama State’s Kamrynn Clay, Jackson State’s Karys Dove and Alabama A&M’s Rayishon Jackman its Volleyball Players of the Week for their outstanding performances this past week.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Owens delivered an impressive offensive performance earning her the Offensive SWAC Player of the Week award, finishing with 26 kills in six sets played this past week of competition.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Owens contributed an impressive defensive performance earning her the Defensive SWAC Player of the Week award, finishing with 34 digs in six sets played this past week of competition.
 
Co-Setter of the Week
Clay finished the week with 53 assists in leading the Hornets to wins over Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State. She also added three service aces and 11 digs.
 
Co-Setter of the Week
Dove notched 66 assists to average 5.5 assists per set during this past week of competition
 
Newcomer of the Week
Jackman, who has earned weekly honors five times this season, finished with 33 kills, 19 digs, four service aces and 1.0 total team blocks in matches against Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State.
