BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Grambling State’s Sophia Lezizidis, Kaylen Jankans, Jaliyah Clark and Taya Sands its Soccer Players of the Week for their outstanding performances this past week.
Offensive Player of the Week
Lezizidis scored two goals during GSU's 4-0 win over Jackson State. She also had an assist in the Lady Tigers 2-0 win over Southern.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jankans helped lead GSU to 180 minutes of shutout defense against Southern and Jackson State. She also had an assist in the Lady Tigers 4-0 win over Jackson State.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Clark tallied two shutout wins over Southern and Jackson State.
Newcomer of the Week
Sands scored the first goal during Grambling State's 4-0 win over Jackson State.
