BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Texas Southern’s Athean Renfro, Edric Whitley and Jeremy Ramirez along with Jackson State’s JaCobian Morgan and Quincy Ivory for SWAC Football Weekly Awards.
Co-Offensive
Renfro had another impressive game with a career-high 152 yards on 18 carries with a touchdown run that spanned 60 yards as TSU won at Grambling State for the first time since 2013.
Co-Offensive
Morgan finished the night 16-for-23 passing for 191 yards with five touchdowns. He connected with six different receivers, while he also added 66 yards on seven carries.
Co-Defensive
Whitley led Texas Southern with nine tackles, one tackle for loss, an interception and a fumble recovery as TSU won at Grambling State for the first time since 2013.
Co-Defensive/Newcomer
Ivory finished with 12 tackles with eight solo stops, while he also finished 0.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sack. He also finished with his first career interception.
Specialist
Ramirez averaged 40.4 yards per punt with a long of 53 yards including three punts placed inside the 20 yard line as TSU won at Grambling State for the first time since 2013.
