BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama State’s Aliyah Williams, Prairie View A&M’s Meagan Meyers and Bethune-Cookman’s Andrew Kiplagat its Cross Country Runners of the Week for their outstanding performances this past week.
Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Williams finished 22
nd overall at the UAH Invite with a time of 22:06.54, which was good for her personal best.
Women’s Cross Country Newcomer of the Week
Myers ran her best time of the season finishing with a time of 19:52.3 at the DBU Old Glory Gallup event.
Men’s Cross Country Runner/Newcomer of the Week
Kiplagat turned in his third school-record setting time of the season with a mark of 23:49.9 - that bested his previous record by 18 seconds. That was good enough for second place finish at the event.
