BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama A&M’s Esperanza Coe, Jackson State’s Alexis Arredondo and Texas Southern’s Jazmine Gendorf its Co
-Hitters and Pitcher of the Week respectively for their outstanding performances during competition in league play.
Co-Hitter of the Week
Coe went 5-of-9 for a .556 batting average and added an RBI versus Jackson State. She would go 2-for-3 at the plate in each of the first two games, with an RBI in the second, before posting a 1-for-3 effort in the finale.
Co-Hitter of the Week
Arredondo contributed four hits while batting .444 during the Lady Tigers outings versus Alabama A&M this past week.
Pitcher of the Week
Gendorf struck out nine while only allowing two hits in TSU's game two doubleheader win at Grambling State. She held GSU to a .083 batting average and was a key part of the Lady Tigers success during the series.
