BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama A&M’s Myles McCoy its SWAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week and Christian Bryant its SWAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for their outstanding performances during competition Jan. 22-24.
McCoy (Albany, Ga.) posted three strong performances in his 2020-21 debut as Alabama A&M opened up at the KMS Invitational. The sophomore’s best outing would be a 9-of-26 finish in the 60-meter hurdles (8.55) which he would follow up with a 21-of-41 performance in the 400-meters (53:14). McCoy would wrap up the day by helping the 4x400 relay to a 6-of-10 finish with a time of 3:30.39.
Bryant (Newbern, Ala.) led Alabama A&M's field contingent in their season opener as they competed at the KMS Invitational to kick off the 2020-21 campaign. He would deliver a top five performance in the weight throw as he hit a distance of 15.07-meters to place 5-of-18 before finishing in the top half of the shot put. In that event he finished 15-of-30 with a mark of 11.37-meters.
