Alabama A&M Named 2024-25 SWAC Sports Information Staff of the Year

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Alabama A&M Athletics Sports Information Staff has been named the 2024-25 SWAC Sports Information Staff of the Year. The award was voted on by the league’s sports information directors.

Alabama A&M Athletics continued to grow this year as the department added full streaming for basketball games, as well as softball and baseball games.
 
In addition, AAMU Athletics expanded its numbers throughout the year on social media platforms Instagram and X.
 
Alabama A&M also hosted two press conferences to introduce a new football coach and men's basketball coach while simultaneously pushing those event broadcasts to the Bulldogs All-Access network.
 
The AAMU Sports Information Staff currently consist of Brian Howard, Assistant AD for Athletic Communications, Aliyah McDaniel, Assistant Director for Athletic Communications, Jordan Norswearthy, Director of Creative Content and Thai Floyd, Athletics Digital Media.

The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) is considered one of the premier HBCU conferences in the country and currently ranks among the elite in the nation in terms of HBCU alumni playing with professional sports teams.
 
Current championship competition offered by the league includes competition for men in Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field and Tennis.

Women’s competition is offered in the sports of Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, Soccer, Softball, Tennis and Volleyball.
