Southern Falls to UCLA 84-46

LOS ANGELES, Calif.- The Southern Jaguars season came to an end on Friday night with a 84-46 loss to the UCLA Bruins in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.

The Bruins got off to a quick start and ended the first quarter up 23-11 on the Jaguars. 

UCLA turned up the intensity in the third quarter, scoring 21 points and holding Southern to only seven. The Bruins outscored the Jaguars in the fourth quarter 25-13.

For the game SU was paced in scoring offensively by Aniya Gourdine’s ten points.
