This past season the Southwestern Athletic Conference crowned champions in 18 sports. In what was a remarkable athletic year, we look back at the teams that emerged as league champions. Our next flashback features the 2023 SWAC Men's Golf Champions the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Final Results
FLOWOOD, Miss.- The Arkansas-Pine Bluff men’s golf team won its first conference title in school history after winning the 2023 SWAC Championship on Wednesday.
The Golden Lions led the event from start to finish as they ended up winning the title by 29 strokes.
Junior Patrick Mwendapole finished atop the leaderboard and was awarded low medalist while fellow teammate Ismael Garcia claimed freshman low medalist honors after finishing in second place at the event.
A total of four Golden Lions were named to the All-SWAC team with three earning first team recognition. The win also marks the first conference title for Arkansas-Pine Bluff head coach Roger Totten.
