SWAC Golf Championships: Day One Recap

FLOWOOD, Miss.- The Texas Southern Lady Tigers finished day one of the 2023 SWAC Women’s Golf Championships in first place.

TSU currently leads second place Prairie View A&M by 11 strokes after round one of competition. Bethune-Cookman and Alabama State sit in third and fourth place respectively.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff currently leads the men’s field after day one of competition.

Texas Southern and Alabama State are currently tied at second place sitting 12 strokes behind UAPB, while Florida A&M currently stands in fourth place.

Individually on the women’s side Texas Southern’s Sadanun Sitanonh and Alabama State’s Thayika Kittiyanaruewat are co-leaders after a first round score of 75 (+3).

On the men’s side Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Patrick Mwendapole posted an opening round score of 68 (-4). UAPB’s Isamael Garcia sits in second place after a first round score of 69 (-3).

Round two of competition will begin tomorrow at 8:00 am CST. Live scoring for the event will be available at the link above.
