Martin arrives to the SWAC after earning a dual Master’s Degree in Sport Business Management from the University of Central Florida in Business Administration and Sports Management. During her time there, she served as a graduate assistant for The Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport (TIDES) under Dr. Richard Lapchick. In addition, she hosted Season 3 of the Invisible Women in Sport Zoomcast and interned with Special Olympics International as a Competition Management Intern.
Martin is no stranger to the SWAC having previously worked in the league office in addition to being a former SWAC student-athlete. During her playing days she was the epitome of a scholar student-athlete while competing five seasons at Alabama State University (2014-18) playing the sport of volleyball.
During her time at ASU she won a total of four conference championship titles. Martin also received honors such as SWAC All-Tournament Team (2017 and 2018), First Team All-Conference (2018), Co-Player of the Year (2018), and ASU Female Student-Athlete of the Year (2018).
She also served as captain of her team for two seasons (2017-18), while serving as ASU SAAC President (2017-18) and SWAC SAAC President simultaneously. At the conclusion of her time at Alabama State University, Martin graduated Suma Cum Laude and was named the 2019 Southwestern Athletic Conference Woman of the Year.
Martin brings a wealth of industry experience to the league office. After graduating from Alabama State, she interned at the SWAC serving as the Championships Intern (2019).
Following her internship at the SWAC, Martin served as a Championship Operations Postgraduate Intern at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Gameday Operations Intern with the Indianapolis Colts. In addition, Martin has also found ways to give to the sport of volleyball through the coaching and mentorship of young women.
Martin earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Alabama State University in Recreational Therapy with a minor in Business Administration.
