Key currently serves as Director of Operations for the Southwestern Athletic Conference, where he assists in overseeing the day-to-day management of conference operations, championships, and administrative functions. In this role, he supports coordination between member institutions and contributes to the efficient execution of conference initiatives and a first-class student-athlete experience.
 
Prior to joining the Conference Office staff, Key founded and continues to lead Keep Grinding Enterprises, LLC, a basketball training and consulting company that operates out of his privately owned facility in the Birmingham area.
 
Over the past eight years, he has trained hundreds of athletes across professional, collegiate, and high school levels, including several who have gone on to earn scholarships and professional contracts. Through this venture, he has built a reputation for detailed skill development, mentorship, and player growth.
 
Key also served as Operations Manager for Sivirt LLC in Birmingham, Alabama, where he oversaw daily facilities and operational functions. A former collegiate basketball player, Key began his career at Alabama State University before transferring to the University of Montevallo, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.
 
His combined experience as a player, coach, and operations professional provides him with a comprehensive understanding of athletic development and organizational excellence within collegiate sports.
 
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Key brings dedication, structure, and a passion for advancing student-athlete success to his work with the Southwestern Athletic Conference. In his role, he remains committed to upholding the conference’s mission of fostering competitive excellence, integrity, and opportunity across all member institutions.
