Stewart is a business executive with over 20 years of experience in the areas of business planning, strategy, finance, construction and operations. Stewart has experience with small to mid-size private entities to larger Corporate 500 companies.
He has been a thought leader in the following industries: banking, educational services, real estate, energy efficiency, fuel cell technology, government, and non-profits.
Stewart is currently the Executive Director of Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority (AFCRA), where he is responsible for the daily operations and planning. Stewart’s oversight includes the newly renovated State Farm Arena, Zoo Atlanta, John A. White Golf Course and other city and county assets.
His oversight duties also include construction with over $250 million in new construction over the past 5 years, $40 million in new construction in the pipeline, fiduciary responsibilities for more than $80 million on deposit, new bond issuances and bond compliance monitoring.
Additionally, Stewart started AFCRA Grants which has grown to provide nearly $300,000 in grants to various events and initiatives related to sports and recreation dedicated to serving the constituents in Atlanta and Fulton County.
Stewart has a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate from Clark Atlanta University. Additionally, he received his bachelor’s degree from Howard University with a concentration in Finance and Banking.
Stewart is a member of the board or advisory committee of the following organizations: Southwestern Athletic Conference, National Association of Minority Contractors, First Tee of Metro Atlanta, Grant Park Conservancy and the City of Atlanta Housing Strike Force.
