Desean Bullock joined the Southwestern Athletic Conference in July of 2026. Bullock comes off a recent stint after two years as the Director of Athletic Communications with USC Upstate as the primary contact for Men’s Basketball, Men’s Soccer & Softball.
Bullock oversaw social media work, website maintenance & media coordination as the SID with the Spartans. Seeing success from the chair, he covered the 2025 & 2026 Big South Softball Conference Championship for Softball where Upstate went back to back in those years & made appearances at the NCAA Clemson & Tuscaloosa Regional. During the 2026 Big South Softball Championships, USC Upstate served as the host school where Bullock was the media coordinator & the official statistician for all eight games played at the tournament. Outside of regular duties in Sports Information, Desean Bullock served as the primary photographer & videographer for team photoshoots along with recruit shoots on campus.
Prior to his tenure with Upstate, Bullock served as the Sports Information Director for Point University (Ga.) from August 2022 to January 2025 where he oversaw the 13 Sports and helped oversee the promotion of the Inaugural Women’s Flag Football program in 2023. Bullock also played a role in the coverage of the Point Women’s Basketball team winning the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship in 2022 which was the first Conference Championship in school history. The Sports Information Department saw a new direction as he rebranded the department name and logo to “Skyhawk Sports Network” which featured livestreams, behind the scenes footage, and spotlights on each team. During his tenure, the Network picked up their most viewed stream with 7.1K Views for a Football Game which was the most in school history.
Desean Bullock was named to the College Sports Communicators Class of 2023 30 Under 30 which honors emerging strategic, creative, and digital communications professionals. Bullock also served as panelist at the CSC Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada which featured Five Different Black Men from Diverse Institutions for the first time in CSC History. In June 2024, Bullock was awarded his first Creative & Digital Design Contest Award for the category of "Hype/Pre-Game Video" as the best in the NAIA Category. Bullock’s involvement with the College Sports Communicators broadened as a moderator at the 2025 CSC Convention on a panel about taking the next step in the career field with panelists ranging from NAIA, Division III and Division I. Outside of regular sports information duties, Bullock served as the Graphics Coordinator for the NAIA Softball World Series in 2023 & 2024 which was featured on ESPN+. Desean Bullock served as the PA Announcer for the NCAA Division II, SIAC Softball Tournament and has served as a statistician with the Scorer’s Table since 2023 in sports such as Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, and spotting for Football.
Bullock has an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with the cognates of English and Sports Management from Faulkner University (2021) where he began his career in athletic communications working with Faulkner Sports Network as a student broadcaster, producer, and writer. Desean Bullock’s first internship as a student worker in the field was serving as the graphics coordinator for Alabama State University in March 2021 in a conference softball game against Texas Southern University.
