Alsandor is an award winning Sportscaster with more than 40 years of experience covering major sporting events. Currently, he is a play by play announcer for the Southwestern Athletic Conference, calling football, basketball and baseball games on ESPN. Alsandor is also involved with media consulting and is an emcee for events in and around the Houston area. In his spare time, he mentors aspiring television reporters.

For 30 years, Alsandor worked in a top ten television market. During that time, he reported from major sporting events, including multiple Super Bowls, the NBA Finals, the World Series and numerous NBA and MLB All-Star games.

He worked at KHOU (CBS) in Houston for 20 years.  During his career he meet three U.S. Presidents, along with securing a one on one interview with former First Lady, Michelle Obama at the White House. He was also selected as one of Oprah Winfrey’s Single Men of TV News and made two appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Alsandor was a recipient of the Best Sports Feature Award from the Houston Press Club and the Distinguished Service Award from the Greater Houston Football Coaches Association. Also, the Associated Press awarded him with the Best Sportscaster and Best Sports Feature awards.

Always a firm believer in community involvement, he has served on several Boards in Houston, including the Executive Committee for the Lighthouse of Houston and volunteered with the Wade Smith Foundation, stressing the importance of reading to kids in the greater Houston area.

He is a native of Opelousas, LA and attended Opelousas Catholic School, where he was an All-State football player his junior and senior years, earning a scholarship to McNeese State.  After lettering 3 years on the Cowboys football team, he graduated with a degree in Radio & TV Broadcasting, before starting his career at KPLC in Lake Charles.

Alsandor has also been recognized as a Distinguished Alumni from McNeese State University.
