Bell joined Nike in 2011 and currently manages the Company’s Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) Sports Marketing portfolio and is responsible for seeking, signing and serving athletes, clubs and federations that fuel NIKE’s business, brand and purpose offense across this diverse geography. Previously, Bell lead the Company’s Global Men’s Sports Marketing team, and managed the Company’s relationship with the National Basketball Association.
Before a career shift into Sports Marketing, Bell served as Vice President, Legal: APLA, overseeing the provision of legal counsel for APLA, Converse and the Jordan Brand. Prior to his role advising the APLA, Converse and Jordan businesses, he served as Vice President, Corporate Governance & Securities Counsel and was Assistant Secretary of NIKE, Inc.
During this time at Nike, he served as legal lead for the corporate governance, executive compensation, external reporting, treasury, transfer pricing/tax, and Social Community Impact/NIKE Foundation work streams. In addition, Bell was Co-Chair of NIKE’s Black Employee and Friends Network from 2016 to 2020, helping to guide the Company’s DE&I efforts focusing on the employee experience.
Prior to joining NIKE, Bell was a corporate associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz specializing in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity offerings as well as bank regulatory matters.
After leaving Wachtell, Bell practiced in-house at Harman International Industries, Incorporated where he served as a commercial attorney negotiating various agreements with OEMs in the automobile industry and also drafted the company’s quarterly and annual reports.
Bell is a New York native, and a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Howard University School of Law. In addition, Bell was an adjunct lecturer at the Howard University School of Law teaching a Sports & Social Justice course during the Spring 2022 semester.
